What is B186?

B186 is the operator code assigned to eMarka İletişim A.Ş. by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), and is automatically appended to all SMS messages sent through the service pursuant to the dated 12.04.2016 Council Decision No. 2016/DK-YED/211.

Under the regulation issued by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) on April 12, 2016, operators that initiate SMS with alphanumeric CLI (Calling Line Identification) are required to append the Number Portability Routing Code assigned to them by BTK (a BXXX-format code beginning with B) to the end of the SMS text, in compliance with applicable legislation on communication privacy. This makes it possible to identify which operator an SMS was sent through and, therefore, which subscriber sent it. As a result of this decision, our operator code B186 is automatically appended to all SMS messages sent by our subscribers.
